Missing Races

This year, I already miss two races. The first race that I missed was
"Dagan sa Kausaban, Dagan sa Kalamboan ug Katarungan" in Consolacion.
It was organized by the North Road Runners Club based in Mandaue and Consolacion.
It was a cheap race, with a registration fee of P30.00. Yup, P30.00!
But this race did not have singlets, though, just a race bib.
The reason why I missed this: OVER-SLEEP!

And unfortunately, I am going to miss Run for Q this Sunday.
I already paid P200.00 for both me and for my Dad,
and I already redeemed our singlets.
Sigh!
This will be my first official 10 miler,
since my first 10 miler was a disaster.
The reason why I will miss this race: FAMILY REUNION!
We thought the reunion was scheduled this June.
Oh well, I have to wait for Run 2 the Max 3 this October for my "first" 10 miler.

Manny Pacquiao, the Runner?

Well, why not?

photo from inside sports.ph

We all know that Philippines'  pride runs
before doing his intense boxing workouts with Freddie Roach.
Running gave this man that needed stamina
to last the whole 12 rounds...
another potent weapon in his arsenal.

He ran at any surface, from trails, to track, to asphalts.
He even conquered the hills of Griffith Park and Mt. Lee,
where that famous "HOLLYWOOD" signage is located.

Nike even released a special Manny Pacquaio trainer that looks like
Nike's  Free Collection.

He even runs on them.

Can the 7-time boxing champion become
a championship calibre runner?
Nothing is impossible.
(Adidas adage: Impossible is Nothing.)

Who knows, he will!

But as early as now, Manny Pacquaio, the boxer,
is also a RUNNER.

Hey, I am Bloody Mary

"Oki dok! oki dok! Oki, doki, doki, doc!"

Hi, I am Maria Nes-Li A. Abella. I am better known as ling among my inner circle of friends, but I am known as Marie in my profession. I am licensed veterinarian specializing in Companion Animal Medicine (that's dog and cat medicine).

I used to swim back in my grade school days, I used to play football (for a couple of games) back in high school, and I used to play basketball back in college. And now, I am running.

I am a recreational runner who aims to get fit and adds more life to my years.

I maintain this blog as my reflections on my running sojourns.

"RUN YOUR OWN RACE". That's my running mantra!

So tie up those shoe laces, do some warm-up, and let's run!
