It's another lazy day at the office, I guess. So since I have nothing to do, I browsed at my Facebook account. Then and there, CebuRunning announced that the Cebu City Marathon 2011 registration will be open this October 8, 2010 at the Ayala Center-Cebu Active Zone.
The registration fee has increased. The 5K is pegged at P500.00 (from P250.00), 21K is at P 600.00 (from P450.00), and the full marathon is at P800.00 (from P650.00). Yikes! I hope the organizers have a better way of explaining to the runners this increase in registration fees. It's part of our consumer rights. I just hope monetary depreciation is not involved, though.

basin Avien na ang ila water this time.. New Balance man sad ang Shirt..:-) but anyway, I'll still be joining this 'cause from what I've heard, "d' best" jud ni sila mo-organize..
a lot of my friends are running the 42K, so sad, because i will not be available.
@James: That's sad! Anyway, how about 2012?
@Goat-on-the-Run: (I apologize to those who can't understand our dialect!) Evian...wow sosyal! Mura'g paliton man nimo ang New Balance limited edition shirts?
oh my goodness! The race events there are getting expensive!
But I guess it's much better there than here. Here is you conver it, one marathon or half marathon is around 7,000pesos =(
it doesnt matter if evian or powerade or 100 plus or gatorade or even MCWD. dapat kahibaw sila sa effect ani sa mga runners. yeah mahal jud. ok ra man increase but not as much as P800 for a full marathon.
ang NB shirts will be limited edition but also limited to the registrants... meaning not all will get one. i heard. let's verify.
@Julie: I know, but at least in the US, it's justified since the runners have all those post race perks, and the race kits are loaded with freebies!
@Katol: (Again, I apologize to the non-Cebuano speakers. I am using my dialect again.) Last year, wala raba'y medal ang 21K. Ambot kaha karon. Maayo unta'g loaded ang race kits og mga freebies galore.
Ang 5K gani kay mahalan ra ko sa P500!
2012 na for sure, or milo elims at cebu
Sayang di nako ka-join. If I have my say, I prefer Gatorade...
(Translation: It's really shocking! Anyway, the increase in the minimum wage here is Cebu is the lowest in the whole Philippines. The minimum wage increase in Cagayan de Oro is even higher.
